πŸ“œ History

History for Nuak beings as it was still referred to as Earth by the Humans, and tells the story of how they went extinct by their own hands and how the planet recovered afterwards.

🧍 The Human Era

The Discovery of Flux

In the year 2644, humans discovered Flux. In their greed for energy, especially considering the ongoing climate catastrophe and ever growing consumerism, they consumed without taking care of nature's balance.

However, firstly undetected by them, this excessive usage of Flux creates Anti-Flux, Exium. Things started to become unstable and chaotic all over the globe. When after a few decades they finally discovered it, it was already becoming a real threat. They had to find a solution, quickly.

The Nexus Calamity

The Flux Nexus was constructed as a way to convert Exium into other normal Flux types. However, humans didn't really understand Flux Mechanics fully yet. However politics and pressure from the public lead to massive cut corners in research and safety. Against the recommendations of leading researches, it was completed and turned on, on November 21st, 2715.

As the Nexus ramped up, the pressure of the disturbed Flux Balance was growing and growing until the pressure chamber gave in and the machine exploded spectacularly and tragically. The resulting Exium-powered shockwave wiped nearly all life from earth in less than a few seconds.

The massive amount of concentrated Anti-Flux was absorbed into the planet. Shortly after, Earth's core and layers collapsed into a singularity creating a strange fluxical black hole, which is today referred to as the Nucleus. Only floating islands, leftovers from the shattered surface, remained. Huge Flux Crystals embedded at the lower tips are being repelled by the singularity and keeps the islands them from falling into the black hole.

Thus Human Era ended.

😺 The Anthrokind Era

Repopulation by the Anthrokind

The chaotic energy remained for centuries and the islands were only slowly being regained by nature. Flora and Fauna were changed drastically. Each island grew its own small ecosystem, often strongly dependent on the Flux embedded in them. This led to a wide variety on the whole world.

After millions of years, new intelligent life started to emerge. As with the environment, the nature got creative here as well and many different species rose. The most common eight races are described in the races sections. These are often present on many different regions, while most other races are only encountered in their natural domains.

Communication and globalization were and are still quite hard on ever moving island groups. While there definitely is interactions between races, they often have isolated societies and cultures. The inter-culture political climate is pretty calm across the globe, as there are still many islands not mapped and practicing war is difficult and fruitless.
